tongs These are the carbon-tipped parallel jaw tongs I have made. The grip of the tool is kept cool with rags that are kept wet with water. The carbon tips are mounted perpendicular to the axis of the tongs.
tips Note the flats ground onto the carbon rods which keep them from rolling off the hose clamps, allowing them to mate firmly to the tong tips. If desired, a texture can be made on the rods to emboss into the hot glass. Also, the rods may be coated with diluted Aquadag.
