The Department of Chemistry at Colorado State University, located in Fort Collins, CO, seeks to hire a full-time special 9-month non-tenure track faculty member at the rank of Instructor to oversee and develop the undergraduate organic laboratory curriculum.

We aim to fill this position at the Instructor level, but will consider exceptional candidates at the Assistant Professor rank. Candidates must hold an M.S. or equivalent degree in Chemistry or a related field. More advanced training in organic chemistry and experience running laboratory courses are highly desirable. Position Summary: The Department of Chemistry seeks applications from chemistry instructors who are interested in temporary and special teaching positions at Colorado State University.

The instructor in chemistry will contribute to the Department of Chemistry at Colorado State University through a range of activities. The major commitment will be teaching undergraduate courses or supervising laboratory instruction as appropriate to the instructor’s background and the needs of the department. In addition, the instructor is expected to demonstrate interest in improving teaching and learning in the department through other activities. These can include but are not limited to activities such as improving methods for chemistry instruction; mentoring undergraduate students in outreach activities; developing new lecture demonstrations; developing and revising peer evaluation tools. In general, the instructor is expected to interact with other members of the department including faculty, staff, and students, enriching and enhancing the undergraduate education program offered by the Department of Chemistry at Colorado State University. The Center for Contaminant Hydrology (CCH) http://www.engr.colostate.edu CCH in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Colorado State University (CSU) has an opening for a full-time laboratory technician.

The ideal candidate will be a motivated, mechanically inclined individual with an ability to learn intricate operation of analytical equipment. Additionally, for up to 20% of the time, the candidate will assist with CCH administrative tasks. The position involves use, handling, and potential exposure to hazardous materials.
