Description:About the seminar:\n\n\nIntrinsically chiral inorganic nanotube
s(NTs) based on WS2 and MoS2 are promising for visible-light absorbing mat
erials for heterogeneous enantioselective photocatalysis and potentially f
or fundamental studies of the chiral induced spin selectivity (CISS) effec
 t. Accurate identification of chiral handedness is essential for advancing
enantioselective applications of these materials\, but existing imaging a
nd diffraction-based protocols do not rapidly facilitate the chiral proper
ties of the outermost layer of the nanotube\, especially for metal oxide c
ore-inorganic shell structures that facilitate charge-carrier separation.
This presentation will review the major methods people use to determine c
hirality\, including handedness\, and analyze their advantages and disa
dvantages. A new method based on the core-shell structure will be proposed
