Description:About the Seminar:\n\nSodium-ion batteries (SIBs) present a pro
mising alternative to lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) by reducing reliance on
critical materials like Li\, Ni\, and Co\, while still fulfilling energy
storage needs. Research into electrodes for NIBs is critical for long term
development and commercialization. A significant challenge to commerciali
zation is the loss of Na ions to the solid electrolyte interface (SEI). Th
e SEI affects specific capacity\, stability of the electrode\, and battery
lifetime. Presodiation treatments can help mitigate this irreversible Na
loss by adding Na ions into the electrode before cycling. Direct contact p
resodiation is the most promising method due to its ease however it is dif
ficult to control the degree of presodiation. This seminar will investigat

 nterphases for High-Performance Electrodes for Sodium-Ion Batteries”\, t
he proposed hypotheses\, questions left unanswered\, and steps moving forw
