Description:About the Seminar\n\nNanoscale materials potentially offer rapi
d and reversible optical modulation in electrochromic smart window technol
ogies. Nanoparticles must modulate between transparent and colored states
with the same rate and magnitude to achieve uniform color across a large-a
rea smart window. However\, it is currently unclear how interaction betwee
n nanoparticles can affect these dynamics. I will discuss my unique experi
mental design and how it has allowed me to being clarifying the difference
s in coloration magnitudes and kinetics in isolated tungsten oxide nanorod
s\, particle clusters\, and a nanorod thin film device. 4:00 pm
