Description:About the Seminar:\n\nYb3+-doped lead-halide perovskites (Yb3+:
 CsPb(Cl1-xBrx)3) have recently emerged as unique materials combining stron
 g\, tunable broadband absorption with near-infrared photoluminescence quan
 tum yields (PLQYs) approaching 200% at ambient temperature. These remarkab
 le properties make Yb3+:CsPb(Cl1-xBrx)3 an extremely promising candidate f
 or spectral shaping in various solar-energy-conversion devices. This talk 
 will describe some of our group\\'s recent research into controlling\, und
 erstanding\, and harnessing the physical properties of these and related d
 oped semiconductors. The talk will emphasize the fundamental science of ma
 terials development and spectroscopic/electronic-structure characterizatio
 n\, particularly as they pertain to understanding the unusual photophysics
  observed in these materials. Modeling and application of these materials 
 as solar spectral downconverters will also be discussed.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n&nb
