Description:Literature Seminar\n\n\nNanoparticles are emerging as a materia
l of interest for photovoltaic applications. Current colloidal synthesis m
ethods use long chain coordinating organic molecules as ligands to passiva
te the surface. Exchanging these ligands for smaller organic molecules or
inorganic compounds is required to improve particle interactions for charg
e carrier transport. Current literature focuses on binary systems and sing
ular ligand exchanges\, while the Agrawal group presents a multistep\, mul
tiligand hybrid approach. Using a CIGS nanoparticle system\, they develop
an efficient replacement of oleylamine bound to the surface with both pyri
dine and diammonium sulfide that work in conjunction and improve device ef
ficiency. This work shows promise for novel\, multinary systems such as Cu
3PSe4 to exchange ligands at multiple cation sites\n\nEllis\, R. G.\; Turn
