Description:About the Seminar:\n\nNuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and magn
etic resonance imaging (MRI) are the key spectroscopic and medical imaging
technology in both science and industry. However\, high cost and effort f
or installation and maintenance of superconducting magnets and cryogenic c
onditions are major obstacles in taking full advantage of NMR and MRI. One
way to overcome the need for superconducting magnets is to exploit hyperp
olarization\, in which spins are polarized beyond the Boltzmann distributi
 on. Of several\npotential hyperpolarization techniques\, parahydrogen\, a
hydrogen spin isomer\, is in particular a promising tool for obtaining hyp
erpolarized materials and enhancing reaction\nmonitoring sensitivities. He
re\, several hyperpolarization techniques including the parahydrogen-based
approach will be introduced as well as some recent research topics on par
ahydrogen-based hyperpolarization will be discussed.\n\nZoom link: TBA 4:0
