 ing-opening polymerization of N-carboxy anhydrides requires stringent puri
 ty and air-free conditions\, which undermines the potential of these mater
 ials. Recent methodology allows unpurified NCA polymerization to proceed r
 apidly\, controllably\, and in-air by using amphiphilic macroinitiators un
 der emulsion conditions. This proposal is centered around developing a con
 tinuous emulsion-flow process and designing cleavable initiators to enable
  production of novel\, bio-inspired materials with attractive mechanical p
