Description:About the Seminar\n\nEstablished in Ann Arbor\, Michigan\, in 2
008\, the Toyota Research Institute of North America (TRINA) mission is th
rough in-house\, collaborative and partnership activities in North America
\, and creates the research foundation for Toyota’s advanced product dev
elopment.  TRINA’s partnerships with societies such as the Electrochemi
cal Society (ECS)\, American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and No
rth American Catalysis Society (NACS) has fostered and supported a number
of exciting research themes.  Here\, projects from the Toyota-Electrochem
ical Society Young Investigator Fellowship\, with a emphasis on research i
nto batteries\, will be presented and discussed.  TRINA’s in-house rese
arch on magnesium batteries and solid-state batteries will also be present
ed and discussed.  As we celebrate our 15-year Anniversary at TRINA\, we
envision future research to enable breakthrough applications for a sustain
 able mobility society.\n\nAbout the Speaker \n\nTimothy Arthur\, Ph.D.\,
is a Senior Manager of the Research Strategy Office at the Materials Resea
rch Department in Toyota Research Institute of North America (TRINA). His

on batteries\, specifically multivalent and solid-state batteries\, and ho
lds several publication and patent authorships.  Tim joined TRINA in 2010
as a Senior Scientist working in the Materials Research Department - Batt
