Celebrate Undergraduate Research and Creativity (CURC) is an annual event held in April that showcases the creativity and scholarship of undergraduate students across various disciplines. CSU Department of Chemistry had a very strong showing at CURC 2023. Professor Nancy Levinger gave the keynote presentation prior to the award ceremony.
Professor Debbie Crans’ group had nine undergrads presenting at CURC including a team project. Four of the students receiving CURC awards are chemistry majors:

Andre Eberspacher-4th Best in Show (only freshman of advanced standing) for his poster “UV-Vis Stability Studies of Hydrophobic Non-innocent Vanadium(V) Schiff Base SALIEP Catecholate complexes”

Anna Galaeva-College Honors for her poster “Sterically Hindered Hydrophobic Vanadium(V) Complexes as Chemotherapeutics”

Ellie Nelson and Ella Kim as a team-Highest Honors for their group poster “Synthesis and Characterization of Schiff-Base Metal Catecholate Complexes for Intratumoral Cancer Treatment”
