The Chemistry Department at CSU is a growing, active, and vibrant community of scholars at all levels. Gifts and donations to the Department from friends, alumni, and corporate sponsors enable us to continue our long-standing tradition of excellence in chemistry education and research, and to cultivate the talents of our faculty and students. Your generous donations support undergraduate scholarships for chemistry majors, graduate student fellowships, and faculty research.

While donations to the General Chemistry Fund are always appreciated, and new instruments to propel research innovation are in the works, current emphases are outlined below:

  • The Oren Anderson Memorial Lecture in Inorganic Chemistry is named for the late Professor Anderson, who dedicated 37 years of teaching and groundbreaking research to the Department of Chemistry at CSU. The lecture enables scientists outside of CSU the opportunity interact with the CSU inorganic chemistry community.
  • The Professor Louis Hegedus Fellowship and C. Michael Elliott Scholarship are instruments that help us attract and retain top graduate students majoring in chemistry.
  • The Robert Williams Professorship in Organic Chemistry helps us recruit and retain tenure-track organic chemistry faculty members, with preference given to research interests in cancer and/or infectious diseases.
  • The Fixman-Ladanyi Professorship in Chemistry was created in memory of long-time distinguished chemistry faculty members Marshall Fixman and Branka Ladanyi. It aims to enhance education, research, and service within the field of chemistry, specifically focusing on physical and/or theoretical chemistry.

On behalf of the Department of Chemistry at Colorado State University, thank you for your support to help ensure our students, faculty, teaching, and research continue to grow for years to come.
