Dr. Lim, Founder and CEO of New Iridium, has been named one of C&EN’s Talented Twelve. C&EN’s Talented Twelve will host a free, two-day virtual symposium on September 27 and 28, 2021. Dr. Lim has been tagged as a “photocatalyst phenom” and will present his work in developing organic molecules that spur on light-powered reactions.
Dr. Lim earned his Ph.D. degree from the University of Boulder and worked as a postdoctoral fellow under the guidance of Dr. Garret Miyake. In August 2017, both Miyake and Lim moved to Colorado State University – Dr. Miyake as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Dr. Lim as a postdoctoral fellow in the Miyake research group. Together, with the collaboration of Dr. Brent Cutcliffe, New Iridium became a reality in 2018.
When asked about Dr. Lim’s success, Dr. Miyake couldn’t be more proud, “I am excited for Chern to receive this prestigious and well-deserved honor that recognizes some of the brightest young minds in the world. Chern is not only an amazing scientist but has become an impressive CEO as he has built a thriving start-up company. I am truly proud of what Chern has already accomplished and looking forward to how he changes the world.”
Congratulations, Dr. Lim!
