Professor Chris Ackerson has been awarded funding from the Chan-Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) Donor Advised Fund (DAF) through the Silicon Valley Community Foundation (SVCF). Professor Ackerson’s Cryo-CLEM Labels application, “Cloneable Quantum Dots” aims to evaluate a cloneable fluorescent zinc-selenide quantum dot in cellular light and electron microscopy, and to develop a cloneable bismuth quantum dot as a significantly smaller cloneable quantum dot.

With this award funding, the lab will continue developing their established Cloneable Nanoparticles technology to synthesize cloneable quantum dots within cells at regions of interest.
