About the Seminar:
Atmospheric aerosols are a large source of uncertainty in modern climate models. There are direct and indirect ways in which aerosols impact climate. The removal of aerosols to Earth’s surface depends on meteorological conditions, properties of the aerosol, and properties of the surface. Reducing uncertainty around anthropogenic climate change requires understanding the processes which remove aerosols from our atmosphere, dry deposition is one process. Models which describe dry deposition of aerosols seldom agree with available measurements. Additionally, measurements of aerosol dry deposition are lacking over many landscape types on Earth.
