Summer International Scholars Seminar Series: Part 1
Professor Fukuyama is one of the most internationally renowned scholars in the field of organic synthesis, complex natural products synthesis and synthetic methodology. He has tackled some of the most dauntingly challenging and complex heterocyclic natural products. His list of achievements puts Fukuyama in a class by himself. He received his B.S. Degree in Chemistry from Nagoya University in 1971, and a Master’s Degree in Organic Chemistry from Nagoya University in 1973. He attended Harvard University and with his mentor Prof. Yoshito Kishi, he received his Ph.D. in 1977. In 2012, he moved to Nagoya University as Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences and is currently the “Designated Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
