Abstract:

Do you want to learn more about patents, copyrights, and trademarks? Are you curious about what lies behind the velvet curtain of the Tech Transfer office and how new inventions are evaluated? Interested in examples of things that have worked, and things that didn’t? We’ll talk about different types of intellectual property, the evaluation criteria for innovations, why technology transfer exists, and how it is utilized to help maximize research impact and opportunities.

 

About the Speaker: 

Aly joined CSU STRATA in 2022 as a Licensing Associate, working with innovations in the physical sciences portfolio. She has an interdisciplinary research background focused on geoscience, nanoparticles, and material characterization. Before joining the team, she was part of the technology transfer team at Auburn University. Aly holds a B.S. in Geology from SUNY Brockport, a M.S. in Geology from Miami University, and a Ph.D. in Geoscience from Virginia Tech.
